Flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has noted that there had been a significant level of American influence on Ghanaian politics, adding that he is part of that influence.
Even though he conceded that such influences may not always be the best, the CPP candidate noted that there was the need to arrive at a relationship that would be mutually beneficial to both countries.
“There are people in politics in Ghana who understand American values, can interpret the American interest and use their personal experiences and relationships in that country to good effect. I am one of them,” he said.
According to him, probably no one did more to bring freedom and dignity to black people worldwide in the 20th century than Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana.
